Possibilities of AI monitoring
The functionality of a video surveillance system in combination with artificial intelligence can be described in four steps. Each individual step can operate as a “system” independently of the others. However, when the complexity of a requirement increases, more processes are needed to achieve a perfect result.
Pattern recognition
Intelligent video surveillance automatically detects objects and people in all light and environmental conditions.
Pattern classification
The evaluation of the recognized patterns is the actual AI function. Here, for example, in the retail area it is possible to recognize whether a shopping cart is empty or full. In the security area, for example, body posture and movement patterns can be identified.
Pattern matching
In this step, detected patterns and motion sequences are compared with already known models. If a certain event occurs, the system can issue an automatic message.
Message to recipient
The final step is to route the messages to a wide variety of recipients, such as gatekeepers, control centers, alarm systems, randomly placed network loudspeakers, and many more.
