About the project
Our solution
Ip cameras are installed on site in the barn or outside. Data transmission takes place either via an existing network infrastructure or via LTE routers. In addition, so-called dead switches are installed to interrupt or switch the live transmission, e.g. during feeding. This ensures that the privacy and data protection rights of the employees on site are protected. A digital signage solution is used to broadcast the live images on site in the store, after which on and off hours for the stream are set according to the store’s opening hours.
In addition, the VTIS monitoring system can automatically monitor the operation of all network components and forward an automatic message to a responsible person in the event of a malfunction. This ensures long-term trouble-free operation of the entire system.
The challenge
Today’s customers want to consume in an environmentally conscious way and are also willing to pay the appropriate price for it. In return, they demand quality and complete transparency. Simple organic labels are no longer sufficient. Pictures, on the other hand, say more than a thousand words, and live pictures provide irrevocable proof of the husbandry conditions. The underlying idea and challenge of this project was therefore to offer the customer 100% transparency. When buying animal products, the customer should be able to see live under which conditions the animals are kept. The technical challenge was to build a lean and simple livestreaming system that can reliably deliver high-quality live images in remote areas, despite poor or non-existent network infrastructure.
