Integrated video system for retail
Entrance area
Monitoring of entrances and exits with integrated people counting. Special cameras for varying light conditions and day/night function. Connection of access control for restricted areas such as the cashier’s office.
Checkout area
The video system is connected to the checkout system. Each action (e.g. cash register opening or closing) can be documented with a video image. Additional anonymization by using privacy masks of critical areas (e.g. EC devices).
Alarm system
Connection of the video system to the alarm system for quick clarification of the situation in the event of an incident. Delay-free connection to security staff.
Store monitoring
Monitoring and recording of the entire store. Focus on frequently stolen goods such as alcohol or cosmetics. Easy and fast operation of the system by a detective for evidence e.g. in case of theft.
About the project
For one of Europe’s largest retailers, we are equipping thousands of stores with professional digital video surveillance systems. The goal is, among other things, the reduction of inventory differences. We see ourselves as a full-service system house and accordingly we handle all project steps up to the completion of each individual store. This includes conception, planning, consulting, pre-configuration, commissioning, installation and the servicing after the commissioning of a system. To ensure smooth operation of the video surveillance system, our helpdesk provides its expertise and resolves any irregularities via remote support in the shortest possible time.
The implementation
We have set up internal processes and established external partner networks to equip thousands of stores across Europe. This enables us to implement a high volume of orders over a long period of time in a high-quality fashion. The most important components of this project include not only a reliable video surveillance system, but also the integration of additional functions with the goal of reducing inventory discrepancies and providing legally usable image material in an uncomplicated and fast manner.
